Why Become a Covenant Musician?

• Make a statement to the world about who you are in Christ and how His love has enabled you to be transparent about your weaknesses and sexual failings.

• Stand together with other musicians to call the church to sexual purity and accountability.

• Gain access to many resources, connections, and partnerships that will help you to promote your music.

• Become equipped to be an effective ambassador for sexual integrity.

The Covenant Musician Commitment

There is no charge or fee to join the Covenant Musicians network, but it does require a weighty commitment.

• First, it means that you are a musician who seeks to honor Christ in your life and in your music.

• Second, it means that you are personally committed to God’s standard for sexual purity: “not even a hint” of immorality in your heart and life (Ephesians 5:3). It means that you want to be able to say what Job said of himself: “I have made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully” at another person (Job 31:1). No matter where you are in your journey of purity (still seeking freedom from habitual sin, easily ensnared by lust, or finding a measure of freedom), you want to continue to grow in grace.

• Third, it means that you are being held accountable by those you trust concerning the temptations you face and the choices you make. Sexual temptations abound on the television, the Internet, in films, on billboards and magazine racks. An important part of the Covenant Musicians commitment is that you are regularly held accountable for the tempting thoughts, the triggers of lust, and the moments of sinful weakness.

• Last, it means that you desire to actively promote this same lifestyle of purity and accountability to others that you know.
